CERIC presents Cannexus
Canada’s bilingual Career Development Conference

Cannexus24 will be a hybrid conference with a live in-person portion to be held at the Shaw Centre in Ottawa, Canada and a virtual portion. It will take place January 29-31, 2024. Last year, our in-person conference drew nearly 1,000 delegates and our virtual conferences more than 1,000, making Cannexus the largest bilingual conference of its kind in the country.

This dual format for the 18th annual conference offers the best of both worlds. No matter how you participate, Cannexus will provide an accessible, content-rich and value-packed opportunity for Canada’s career development communities to convene, share and learn.

What to expect at a hybrid Cannexus

Whether you are part of the in-person or virtual conference, you will:

Gain knowledge from 100+ live and on-demand sessions in both English and French

Meet like-minded delegates and build connections through networking activities

Be informed and inspired by diverse, world-class keynotes and presenters

Engage with organizations that offer programs, products and services to help your work

Have access to session recordings for three months to keep learning

In-person or virtual: Experience Cannexus your way!

Many of you are excited to be connecting again face-to-face with colleagues. At the same time, we’ve all come to appreciate the convenience of virtual events. We are planning a hybrid program that makes the most of each format. There will also be intersection points throughout, with virtual and in-person attendees coming together.

Frequently Asked Questions

General

Cannexus will take place Jan. 29-31, 2024, both virtually and in Ottawa, Canada. The virtual and in-person portions are essentially separate events with different sessions taking place within the greater whole of the hybrid umbrella. But there will be multiple touchpoints throughout the conference where virtual and in-person delegates can interact. Regardless of which format you choose you will still be part of a unique gathering where you will explore innovative approaches in career and workforce development, and connect with peers from across Canada and around the world.
Although the virtual and in-person portions of Cannexus are mostly separate, there are sessions that act as bridges between the virtual and in-person experiences. Keynotes, select concurrent sessions and the Spark! will all be shown in both the virtual and in-person events at the same time. These sessions will be streamed from the Shaw Centre into the virtual conference platform.

Note: During the in-person conference, in-person attendees will not be able to view the virtual sessions. However, when the conference is over (after Jan. 31), all in-person attendees will be able to access the full virtual conference platform to watch the virtual recorded sessions for three months. Virtual attendees also receive three months’ access to the virtual platform.

In-person sessions will not be recorded or available to virtual attendees with the exception of in-person Keynotes and Spark! talks, which will be streamed live in the virtual platform as well as recorded and available for viewing for three months

In-Person

Yes. All in-person attendees will have access to all the virtual conference recorded sessions for three months following the conference. Please note, in-person attendees will not have access to the virtual sessions until after the live conference days.
Health and safety are taken very seriously. We will be following Ontario and Ottawa Public Health guidance very closely over the coming months. Health and safety precautions will be communicated to in-person attendees in the lead-up to the conference.

Virtual

You will receive a login email in January 2024.
No. Only registered attendees who have paid their registration fees will receive an email with their login details in January. If you do not pay your registration fees before the conference, you will not be granted access to the virtual conference platform.
All virtual and hybrid Cannexus24 sessions will be recorded and remain available to attendees for three months following Cannexus.
